Lead La Tene period 300-100 BC swords with verification
Description
La Tene culture 300-100 BC Celtic swords with verification papers and previous bill of sales from Sands of time antiquities Texas. Included in this lot are actually two swords. One fused in its original scabbard and another sword only. Also included a smaller curved sword blade of unknown origin. Recently acquired from a local collectors estate. original bill of sale and certificate of authenticity was found for the sword in scabbard but we could not locate any for the additional swords. The cost at time of purchase for the one was 5000 US. Exceptional examples of the single handed broadsword with leaf shaped iron blade cast with full tang and minimal guard. A design attributed to the Celts. Overall length 41 inches including the tang. Possibly the best example outside a museum. Reference WS399 Swiss private collection acquired in Switzerland early 20th Century then by decent to present owner.
