Welcome to the world of Art & Antiquities in this very Grand Old Granbury Estate with the most discriminating taste in Art, Furnishings, and Decor and a love for Ancient Pottery from Han Dynasty China to Pre-Colombian Artifacts from our side of the globe, with both dating back to 4th Century, BC. The Art. The Lady of this Estate was an Artist. Her inspiring Modern, Abstract, and Expressionist Style are evident throughout her works. In addition to the oils in bold, dark colors, we also see many lighter mixed media works. A favorite on auction night is surely to be the one with John F. Kennedy. The most valuable piece in this auction would be the Original Abstract Oil Painting with an Ocean Scene by Renowned Fort Worth Artist, William Bamer. Last but not least, we could not discuss the art in this estate without mentioning the Watercolors of Birds in Natural Texas Landscapes, painted in the style of Audubon by the Fort Worth Artists, Scott and Stuart Gentling. These are all Signed Limited Edition Prints in the set are limited edition #499/500. The Antiquities in this auction are Pottery from the Han Dynasty in China and Pre-Columbian Artifacts. We have TWENTY-SIX Pottery Pieces from the Han Dynasty, Circa 206 BC to 200 AD. That’s quite an impressive number for a private collection, and they are in surprisingly good condition considering they’ve been around a couple of millennia. The Pre-Columbian Artifacts are Carved Stone and Clay Pottery. Although mostly fragments, you can see the iconic faces and icons of Mesoamerica all through the collection. There are some (mostly) intact Pottery Wind Instruments in the collection. The Furnishings and Decor are just as discriminating and high brow as the art and history. How about the Baccarat Crystal Stems or Tiffany Decanter? Did you see the Porcupine Quill Box? Unique, interesting, and simply stunning pretty much sums up that box, and the estate. There is a Cini Boeri 'Lunario' Modern Design Coffee Table and an Oscar Bach Art Deco Gothic Arched Decorative Metal Mirror. In addition, there are many, MANY pieces of impressive / ornate Antique Furniture to be found in this Estate. On the outside we have seven selections of the Vintage Woodard Wrought Iron Patio Furniture, and two of those are table and chair sets. Since the 1950’s, this furniture has been highly regarded in style, and investible quality. There is another collection of Cut Geodes with Mineral Specimens spewing out and clever Carved Stone (i.e. Jade and Lapis) Amulets added to the inside jewel-like setting, some maybe set on a mother of pearl shell base. An entire collection of these special sculptures, in addition to the endless Crystal Clusters, Raw Quartz, Tourmaline, Obsidian, and a number of other gorgeous geodes left in their natural state.
