.222 Kilbourn, s/n 49445, rifle, brl length 24", bolt action, good plus condition, Manufactured in 1943 being one of the lowest production years ever only surpassed by 1935 & 1944 when fewer than 20 rifles were made each year. Having been converted to a .222 Kilbourn with "222" stamped on left side of barrel at receiver as well as a "2" having been added to the front "22 Hornet" with "Kilbourn" being stamped above. Iron sights have been removed when rifle had scope mount installed on barrel leaving 4 tapped holes. Left side of receiver has also been drilled and tapped for scope mount. Receiver shows little wear to bluing with bluing on barrel showing some thinning at receiver as well as at muzzle with complete loss where Kilbourn is stamped, showing only light freckling in some spots. Checkered steel shotgun style butt plate, serrated trigger and hinged flour plate showing only light thinning. Walnut checkered pistol and foregrip stock has squirel chisel punched into right side with areas of indentations and few light scuffs mostly left side forend. Bore shines bright. Missing rear sling swivel. 7-4-1
