.38-40, rifle, s/n 492927B, brl length 26" round, lever action, very good condition, Manufactured 1895, special order 26" round barrel with bright shiny bore showing few light areas or pitting. Bluing on barrel has patinated to light brown front half with break having visible bluing. 2 line barrel address with adjustable rear sight missing elevator, fixed front. Receiver has mottled brown patina throughout with traces of bluing, having few tool marks left side plate at bottom and top of tang. Butt plate shows freckling with few small areas of very light pitting in spots. Smooth walnut straight grip stock and forend showing some wear with light scattered scratches and indentations in spots.
