.38/c, revolver, s/n 16709, brl length 6", double action, good condition, Colt letter accompanying revolver states as above with SOLD TO: United States Government and Shipped To: Commandant Navy Yard, Address: New York, New York; Date of Shipment: April 30, 1895; Guns in Shipment: 350. Numbers matching with "Anchor/38DA/No. *117/N.C.T./16/709" on butt of grip frame with the N.C.T for inspector Nathan C. Twining, the original blued finish is still present in areas on frame with a very bright fire blued pin on left side, there are scattered scratches and tool marks throughout with fine pitting in areas on cylinder, side of barrel roll mark reads "COLT. D.A. 38" having a 2 line address label with last Patent date of March 5.95. The bore has visible rifling with shine and some areas of light pitting, the hard rubber grips show wear associated with normal handling of a Navy revolver, Colt letter
