Description
Elfi Schuselka (Austrian, b. 1940), Three Abstract Compositions, Mixed Media on Paper, apparently unsigned, two double-sided, each stamped "Studio / Elfi Schuselka" to verso. 22.25" H x 30" W. Provenance: From the collection of the artist. Note: Schuselka studied photography, art history, and theater at the University of Vienna. She moved to New York in 1964. Her work has been exhibited internationally in the United States, Italy, France, and Japan, as well as at the Cracovia Biennial, Yugoslavia, Ibiza Biennial, Spain, and the Sao Paulo Biennial. Her work is part of the permanent collections of the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA), New York, the Amon Carter Museum of American Art, Fort Worth, and the International Centre of Graphic Arts, Slovenia. Long a regular exhibitor at the famed 55 Mercer Gallery, Schuselka is well-known in New York art circles together with her husband, Domenick Capobianco (American, b. 1928). Unless prior arrangements are made, all purchased merchandise must be removed from Showplace premises immediately. Furniture and large items must be removed from Showplace premises by 4:00 pm the following day. Merchandise left after that time will be stored at the RISK & EXPENSE of the purchaser. Storage fees will accrue and will be added to the invoice. 6. The purchase price payable shall be the final bid plus a 25% buyer's premium.
