On this page you’ll find collectible U.S. pennies and cent coins for sale. Most bear mint marks from the Denver, San Francisco, or Philadelphia Mints. Styles include wheat pennies, Lincoln pennies, bronze pennies, zinc-coated steel pennies from the 1943 run, and early 20th Century pennies marked “VDB,” the engraver Victor David Brenner’s initials. Older still are the Indian head penny, Flying Eagle penny, half-penny, and copper-nickel penny. (Modern pennies are made of copper-plated zinc.) Rare cents include the pre-1837 pure copper cent piece and the accidental 1943 Lincoln “copper” penny (actually bronze). Conditions of auction pennies include mint, proof, uncirculated, brilliant, and toned examples, sold singly or in penny collections and rolls. Come back later to HiBid.com if you’re not seeing the right penny for your collection—sellers add new items frequently.
