Vintage Natural Amber 39 Grams Necklace ; Baltic amber is fossil resin produced by pine trees which grew in Northern Europe about 40-50 million years ago. The resin was washed out of the forest floor by large rivers and transported south towards the sea. In the course of time the resin was transformed to amber due to processes of polymerization and oxidation. Baltic amber (known as succinite) is a specific subset of amber that is found only in northern Europe: it accounts for some 80% of the known amber in the world. Baltic amber has high concentrations of a unique substance known as succinic acid. Succinic acid has been shown to stimulate neural system recovery and bolster the immune system.
