**ANDREW WILSON & CO ONLINE AUCTION FEBRUARY 25th-26th**
LOT NUMBER: 8
NAME: Jet
BREED: Stock Horse
SEX: Gelding
HEIGHT (Approx) 15.2h
AGE: 16
DESCRIPTION (as provided by vendor)
"Jet" is the ultimate school master who has done it all.
He has taken homes ribbons in eventing, dressage, showjumping, gymkhanas, campdrafting, challenges and high country extreme cowboy racing.
He has been ridden by the smallest of children to the most experienced.
He is comfortable in all and any situations - has been ridden extensively in the bush, mustering cattle, at pony club, in street parades, used as a push-button school horse, as a horse for an Outback Magazine photo shoot ... the list goes on.
We have owned Jet for 5 years and he has taken our daughter to any number of events. Her regular pony club horse until she switched to cattle based activities (campdrafting, challenges etc), Jet has all the buttons a rider could ask for.
Consistently competed at 55 - 90 cm (higher at home, but does get lazy over jumps if plastic poles are used so better off with pine poles).
He is a true and faithfull jumper, and has had extensive dressage training. Naturally travels in a rounded frame and does not need to be asked to go onto the bit. If you know the buttons, Jet knows the moves - half pass (at a walk), flying leg changes, counter circles, half pirouette etc.
Jet is a schoolmaster in the arena and rarely puts a foot wrong (apart from the lazy jumping). Has been used for school riding lessons for adults and children, but he is big so some children find it a bit daunting.
Although he is often mistaken for a warmblood, Jet is a purebred stockhorse by Glencoe Abstract out of Welbatch Tiger Bess. His rego number with the Australian Stock Horse is Society 170305.
We are only selling Jet as he has a too-big frame to be a competitive campdraft horse and is too tall for our daughter to get on un-assited for riding in challenge events.
His only fault is sometimes Jet can get excited (perhaps once every 10 comps) and will jig-jog on the spot and toss his head, particularly in high-octane competition settings (barrels, bending races etc), or when asked to stay behind alone in a trail ride. It doesn't happen often (as you will see in the videos taken at a gymkhana where he had just finished a barrel race), but it does happen.
Jet is excellent to shoe, catch, feed, truck, clip and is fine with dentistry and vet visits.
He can be left in a paddock for months and does not require lunging or any work before throwing on a saddle and heading out.
He is a wonderful horse for someone who wants to jump on and be competitive from word go and will make a fabulous addition to any family.
