Description
FRAME 50.25 X 25.5 INCHES - CEMENT ADHESIVE WITH ACRYLIC PAINT DATED 2001 About the artist: As an artist, I am driven by a deep concern for the environment and a passion for storytelling. I use recycled wine corks and resins as my primary medium, transforming everyday waste into vibrant artworks that raise awareness about our impact on the planet. My work often employs vibrant colors and layered resin to create visually captivating scenes. Whether it's a fish morphing into a boat, a lobster with ethernet antennae, or two birds battling over a plastic cork, each piece carries a symbolic message about our relationship with nature, technology, and sustainability. The inclusion of historical and personal elements, like photos of Aboriginal Australians and Acadian Ancestors, adds depth and personal connection to my art. It underscores the interconnectedness of environmental issues with cultural heritage and human experiences across continents.Through my unique use of materials and symbolic narratives, I strive to spark conversation and encourage viewers to reflect on their own consumption habits and environmental responsibility. I believe that art has the power to inspire change, and I hope my work can contribute to a more sustainable future.
