American cartoonist, Charles Addams is best known for creating The Addams Family, a series of sinister and endearing comic book characters that were successfully adapted for television and film. Addams began working as a cartoonist for media such as the New Yorker and for magazines related to film and TV. He received a special Edgar Lifetime Achievement Award and collaborated with writers such as Ray Bradbury on another of his creations, The Elliotts.
