LOCATION: W. FAIRFIELD AUCTION BARN (135 Fairfield Road, New Florence, PA 15944)
ROAD CLOSED! This affects anyone coming from New Florence on Rt. 711 South, towards the auction barn. The little bridge is closed on Rt. 711 at the base of Fairfield Hill (near Mirror Lake). Don't get confused by all the detour signs from the other construction going on nearby. This the shortest alternate route. It is windy and narrow so please be cautious.
FROM NEW FLORENCE: Take Route 711 South approx. 2+ miles. Go past Boring's Artic Cat (on right). About ¼ mile after that, turn left onto 1007 Ross Mountain Park Road (look for red/gold Tubmill Creek Farms sign as a landmark). Follow this windy road approx. 3 miles, going past Ross Mt. Park Dam on your left. IMPORTANT! Shortly after the dam, bear/turn right at the Y intersection onto Mountain View Road (there is NO road sign here) keeping the small golf course on your right side. Don't miss this turn! Stay on Mt. View Road for about 3 miles. It will bring you out on top of Fairfield Hill (beside the Fire Station). You can cross the highway there (Rt 711) then turn left around the block, or turn left on Rt 711, then almost immediately turn right onto Fairfield Road (Auction Barn). Look for the auction barn sign. If you go down the hill, you missed the turn.
FROM JOHNSTOWN: It will be easier to take Rt. 271 down Menoher Highway towards Ligonier. At the Sheetz intersection in Oak Grove, turn right onto Rt. 711N. Drive approx. 8 miles, going past Champion Lakes Golf Course (on left), The Real McCoy's (on right), Penna. State Game Commission (on right) & Sower's Tire (on left). Turn left after reaching the very top of Fairfield Hill.
If you are coming from Bolivar - Rt. 259 - Creek Road, you will come out beside MIrror Lake, above the construction, and be able to turn right and head up Fairfield Hill.
