We will be as transparent as we can in both the lot title and description. If the item is an individual sports card, we provide high quality scans of the front and back of the card. If a sports card has a crease or wrinkle, we will tell you that in the description. Even so, it is an opinion and there is no guarantee that a professional grading company or another person will agree. Please use your own judgment and review the information provided carefully. For all other items, we will do our absolute best to ensure you have scans or photographs that represent the item well and offer a clear and accurate description. If you have any questions regarding the condition of an item, please contact us in advance of the auction end date. **REGISTRATION PROCEDURES** REGISTRATION: All individuals wishing to bid in an HCE Auction must register/login for each individual HCE Auction. Prior to being permitted to bid, first time registrants must provide their credit card information (Visa or Mastercard) for authentication via Global Payments. To authenticate your card, a nominal amount of $1 will be charged to your credit card, then returned to you. HCE Auctions will send an email informing potential bidders of their bidder status (approved, not approved). Authentication is valid for a period of 3-6 months, regardless of how many HCE Auctions the bidder registers for in that time period. HCE Auctions reserves the right to determine if an individual is approved or not approved as a bidder in any HCE Auction. **BIDDING PROCEDURES & RULES** BIDDING AND BUYING: HCE Auctions reserves the right to establish general practices and limits concerning users' bidding privileges and procedures. A user who has entered the highest accepted bid at the end of an auction is obligated to complete the transaction. Once entered, bids are not retractable. HCE Auctions is not responsible for bids not being processed or not being accepted due to technical difficulties. Bid manipulation of any kind is strictly forbidden. No shill bidding is allowed. STARTING BID: All HCE Auctions set the starting bid for every lot at $0.99 CAD. There is NO RESERVE on ANY item. We hope this makes bidding in an HCE Auction an exciting experience for bidders! RESERVE: HCE Auctions will not have any reserve. BID INCREMENTS: Bidding increments are set at $1 CAD for our first 2 or 3 auctions (we’re testing it out!). BIDS: HCE Auctions reserves the right to refuse any bid for any reason. EXTENDED BIDDING (SOFT CLOSE): All HCE Auctions will have extended bidding. WINNING BIDS: The highest bidder will be the buyer at auction close and will be obligated to pay the hammer price. For example, an item that has a hammer price of $100 will have $13 in tax (HST in 13%) and $15 for the Buyers Premium (15% BP) added for a total of $128. Shipping, if needed, will be charged separately. **PAYMENT PROCEDURES** PAYMENT: When the auction closes, the authenticated credit card of winning bidders will be charged for all lots won. An invoice will also be sent to winning bidders at the email address provided. Please check your junk and spam folders if you do not see this email within 24 hours of the auction close. Buyers who indicate prior to the end of the auction that they wish to have their items shipped will also be charged for shipping and handling (this will be charged separately). E-TRANSFERS: If an e-transfer is preferred, bidders MUST LET US KNOW when they register so that we will not charge the credit card on file when the auction closes. We will send an invoice by email following the auction. E-transfers must be completed within 24 hours of receiving the invoice. **TAKING POSSESSION OF WON ITEM(S)** Bidders need to let us know prior to the end of the auction if they prefer to have their items shipped. PICK-UP (Ontario residents only): Once paid for, items can be picked up at our Brantford location on Friday, May 31 from 1-7pm, Saturday, June 1 from 10am-2pm, and Monday, June 3 from 1-5pm. Please email us to let us know when you plan to come. SHIPPING IN CANADA: We combine shipping. Shipping fees will be the approximate cost to ship the item(s) with tracking included. For small, lower value parcels, the winning bidder may request to have it sent by regular mail with no tracking or insurance. HCE Auctions does not take responsibility for any parcels sent by regular mail that do not arrive at their destination for any reason or arrive damaged in any way. If a signature is preferred, let us know. All parcels valued at $250 CAD or more will require a signature. Insurance is available for an additional charge.
