Description
No trout sculptures can be removed from the Museum of Art on the event evening as per Museum security policy. All trout sculptures will be transferred to pick up site at 1111 Recreation Drive, Columbia SC 29203 (Earlewood Park). The pick up location for the trout sculptures will be Columbia Parks and Recreation administration building at 1111 Recreation Drive (Earlewood Park). If possible, please call Skot Garrick at 803-318-0024 prior to arriving. Please bring verified auction receipt as proof of purchase. The trout sculptures can be picked up beginning at 1:00 pm and until 4:30 pm on Thursday, May 16, and then from 9:30 am until 4:30 pm on Friday, May 17. Staff will be on hand to load the sculptures on Friday only, from 10:00 am until 1:00 pm. Outside of those hours, buyers will have to bring their own help to load their trout. Trout sculptures should easily fit into most SUVs or hatchback vehicles. There is no staff available to open the Parks & Recreation administration buildings on Saturday or Sunday, so no pick-ups can take place over the weekend. Checkout Date/Time Check out for live bidders will be Wednesday May 15th after auction. Absentee bidders will check out that night as well as Thursday May 16th.

Jump into this exciting trout auction. The Columbia Streams Art public art program trout auction. This initiative is a fun way for local artists and community members to share their talent with the city. There are 35 amazing trout in this collection. Each of Columbia, SC high schools and colleges received one fish to decorate and the rest have been painted by talented local artists. Standing 6 feet tall these pieces are very impressive. Preview at the Columbia City Museum of Art May 6-15 in the Salon on the main floor. The preview is free to the public. We will be taking online absentee bids unil 4:00pm on May 15th. Please bid your highest and best as you will be bidding againist a live auction at the musuem on May 15th. Winners can pick up their piece Friday May 17th at the City of Columbia Parks and Recreations building in Earlwood Park. Due to rules of the museum, the trout can not be removed the night of auction.
There is a 15% buyer's premium on this auction. All pieces are sold as is where is. Due to museum rules, trout will not leave the night of auction. You may pick up your trout Friday May 17th at the City of Columbia Parks and Recreation building. Payment- No out of state credit cards. We will take cash, in state credit cards, certified check, and bank transfer.
