Nicole Christina Bushway (1954-2023) was a dynamic fashion designer and consultant who gained widespread recognition for her designs, illustrations, and innovative sportswear collections in New York, Paris, and Milan, Italy. She attended both the Universite Pierre et Marie Curie and the Paris American Fashion in Paris. Her work as an international fashion designer took her around the world, most notably to the Far East where she procured fashion lines, designs, fabrics and fittings and coordinated trainings with fashion personnel from various countries that contributed to her work as Head Designer and Consultant for Cooper Collections, Amina Rubinacci Tricots and her own "Nicky Bushway" line. Her illustrations reflected designs created for Basile, Sisley-Benetton, Paco Rabanne, Chanel, Yves Saint Laurent, Dior, Lanvin, Givenchy, Nautica USA, New Zealand Outback, Saddlery, and Telegraph among many others. In 1995 Nicole received the "Earnie Award" for excellence in sportswear design for Nautica. While her career required her to travel extensively, Nicole had family roots along with many friends and relatives in Hendersonville, NC.
