Origin of Frankie Raye. #240- First appearance of Luna Maximoff, the daughter of Quicksilver and the Inhuman, Crystal. The Inhumans move to the moon. In a panel where Black Bolt speaks, causing a massive explosion, there is an editor’s note that reads 'we're not going to insult your intelligence by placing a sound effect in this panel'. This is said to be a reference to an argument Byrne had with X-Men writer Chris Claremont, concerning the inclusion of a text representation of an explosion in X-Men #119 that Byrne felt was unnecessary. #243- Iconic cover art by John Byrne. #244- First appearance of Frankie Raye as the second Nova, becomes a Herald of Galactus. #245- First appearance of Avatar, Franklin Richards as an adult. #247- First appearance of Kristoff Vernard, the adopted son of Doctor Doom and heir to Latveria. Death of Skrull princess, Annelle. Death of Empress R'Klll. #258- Cover art by John Byrne featuring Doctor Doom. Perhaps inspiration for Wolverine #50? #265- She-Hulk joins the Fantastic Four. The Thing quits the Fantastic Four. The Skrull, Lyja replaces Alicia Masters in this issue which is later revealed in Fantastic Four #357. #267- Death of Valeria Richards, miscarriage due to complication in utero from having been conceived in the Negative Zone. #269- First appearance of Terminus, a life form engineered by an extraterrestrial race. #271- First appearance of Gormuu. #272- First cameo appearance of Nathaniel Richards, the father of Reed Richards who exists in an alternate reality after attempting to time travel into the future but instead, traveling sideways into a parallel time stream. #273- First full appearance of Nathaniel Richards. Origin of Kang Prime, specifically how he discovered the time travel research of his ancestor to travel to ancient Egypt and become Rama-Tut. This version of Kang was born in the 30th century and is a descendant of Nathaniel Richards. Nathaniel Richards, the father of Reed Richards, inadvertently traveled into a parallel timestream while attempting to travel to the future. #277- Battle of Franklin Richards versus Mephisto that resulted in Mephisto's defeat. In Avengers West Coast #52, it is revealed that Mephisto's defeat at the hands of Franklin caused his soul to fracture into six fragments, two of which were unknowingly harnessed by the Scarlet Witch and used to later create her twin sons. #278- Origin of Doctor Doom - his years, facial disfigurement and procurement of the Doctor Doom armor. Controversial issue where Johnny Storm confronts an individual who is defacing racial equality posters with racist propaganda. Multiple, uncensored panels clearly display an extremely offensive racist word and phrase. #280- Sue Storm becomes Malice. #284- Invisible Girl becomes Invisible Woman. #286- Return of Jean Grey. Set up to introduction of X-Factor team, comprised of the original X-Men. #289- Death of Basilisk. #291- Cover art inspired by Action Comics #1 (1938). #296- Specialty border printed on select covers published in November 1986 celebrating Marvel's 25th Anniversary or more precisely, the 25th year since Fantastic Four #1 was published in November 1961. #347- First team appearance of the New Fantastic Four: Wolverine, Spider-Man, Ghost Rider, Hulk - initially appeared in three issues. #348- First cover appearance of the New Fantastic Four. #358- First appearance of Paibok the Power Skrull, a bionically enhanced captain in the Skrull Empire. #391- First appearance of Vibraxas, a Wakandan infused with Vibranium.
