This is a nice condition, fully working Taito Operation Thunderbolt dual gun arcade game. Yes, this is the same cabinet that was in the last auction. What happened was that the buyer of this game in the last auction only wanted the PCB out of it. So I gave it to him.
Fortunately, I had another Operation Thunderbolt PCB, and so I decided to send the monitor chassis in for repair and see if I could get the game 100% working this time. I was able to....it is now 100% working! Even the recoil on both guns is working! And they aim great!
The cabinet is pretty solid and doesn't appear to have any water damage or any serious other cabinet damage. The artwork is somewhat faded, but that is common on this game.
Since having the monitor repaired, the monitor has a gorgeous bright picture. The sound is great on the game, too. The marquee lights up like it should with a new bulb and starter, and the coin slots light up with new bulbs as well. The game has coin mechs, locks on all the access and coin doors, and an original coin box.
The drawer at the bottom slides out nicely and has the game electronics in it, so you can service it easily from the front of the cabinet.
You probably know this, but this game is the sequel to a VERY popular similar game called Operation Wolf. That was a single player, single gun game. This game plays about the same as that one (albeit with all new missions and scenes, etc), except that this time you can play with a friend at the same time because of the two guns mounted side by side.
A great concept, and really the pioneer in this type of game. Both Operation Wolf and Operation Thunderbolt were big successes in the arcades id their time. The games hold up pretty well, as they are still fun to play despite the "primitive" graphics when compared with today's technology. Good game play is good game play, regardless of how fancy the graphics are.
Has the original back door with lock.
