I know this is the item that all of you watching are just waiting to bid on. It was a tough decision for me to let this go, but the time has come. A vintage Kenmore dishwasher!!! These have really gotten collectible and I'm hoping I timed this sale to perfectly match the peak of value on old home appliances.
But in all seriousness, this is a dishwasher that I bought when "buying out" an old route operator many years ago. He had a warehouse full of gems, and this was amongst those gems. Seemed out of place, but then this guy had all kinds of personal stuff mixed in with his games in the warehouse.
From what he told me, this is a fully working dishwasher. I never tried using it. I bought it because at the time I had a bunch of apartments that I owned / operated and I figured there would come a time when I would need it for one of my apartments. Well, I decided to get out of the apartment business about 5 years ago, but still hung onto this. Then when my daughter got a house without a dishwasher, I gave it to her to try out. I'm trying to remember exactly what the problem was but my recollection is that it didn't work with her sink. It is made to snap onto the sink in your kitchen for filling and draining, but she got an old house with an old rickety sink faucet that just doesn't merge with this attachment. At least that is what I remember. So anyway, it sat in her kitchen for about a year and finally she said, Dad, come get thing thing out of my way. So I did.
So now I give up - I'm going to cash in and get all of my money out of this thing. My loss is your gain. It does appear to be electronically working in the sense that I plug it in and close the door and it lights up and seems to start doing something.
But make no mistake - I am selling this as is with no promise or guarantee. I really just don't know. The guy I bought it from was an honest guy, but then it has been in storage for years - or decades - so there could be belts or seals that have dried up and need replaced.
It does look like it might be NOS though - it has very little sign of wear, even on the bottom, and it still has all the manuals and original front stickers.
