This is another RARE version of a really classic video arcade game - QIX! This is the only cocktail table dedicated QIX I've ever seen in my life. I honestly didn't even think they made these until I stumbled on this one. When you have been as deep in the hobby as I've been for as long as I've been in it, you sometimes start thinking you've seen everything. Then you encounter something like this QIX cocktail and you realize just how little you actually know.
Anyway, it is definitely a dedicated cocktail and it is in pretty nice condition. The only big flaw is the torn section of the CPO on the player 1 side. Not terrible, but definitely not great. The rest of the game is physically excellent.
The top glass is in great shape with almost no paint flaking / peeling. The cabinet is in excellent condition with no signs of water damage or any other major damage. The legs are in great shape and appear to be adjustable up and down, although I have not attempted this so I don't know how far up or down they go.
Here is where it's at electronically: It has all original hardware installed, and everything is completely working EXCEPT the boardset. So the power supply, the monitor, the speakers, the controls, the wiring, coin acceptance - all fully working. I know this because I put in (temporarily) a new replacement QIX board, and the game worked fully with that board installed. But with the original PCB set plugged in, some LEDs light up but nothing on the screen.
So you can either repair or replace the original PCB set and then be in business - OR - you can purchase one of these replacement QIX pcbs and have it fully working in minutes. The replacement board is sold by arcadeshop.com (and possibly other sellers). You also need the wiring harness adapter, so you can plug the arcadeshop board directly into the cabinet. If you want to purchase mine and have me install it, just let me know after the auction is over - I will add $325 to the hammer price of the game and you can pay me for it. Then I will just order another one to replace mine. I like to keep one in stock for testing cabinets.
Or, feel free to buy one yourself and install it yourself. It isn't difficult.
Oh, by the way, the replacement QIX board plays a bunch of other Tatio games like QIX 2, Zookeeper, Kram, etc. So I guess you're making a sort of multi-game if you want to. You can also configure the board to boot up to QIX and play only that game if you want to make it seem exactly like a dedicated QIX game.
Please note: Sometimes in the pictures above (and even sometimes in the video), the monitor looks like it isn't displaying correctly. However, that is only because the shutter speed is too fast on my phone camera. So it captures the picture while the monitor is drawing the screen and looks like half the screen is missing. Usually this is not as bad in videos, so watch the video included above and you should be able to see that the monitor has a great picture (although sometimes it looks funny even in videos). You are just going to have to trust me that, unless I specifically mention it above, the picture is good on this monitor in real life.
