This is a game that was sold in the previous auction: Arcadia Auctions #4. However, the buyer decided to abandon it and not pick it up or have it shipped, so here it is again, up for sale in Arcadia Auctions #5! I thought long and hard about doing something else with it, like "upgrading it" to a 60 in 1 since Pleiads is one of the games on the 60 in 1. Should be an easy modification and might give it a more broad appeal. But at this point I have not had the time or enough desire to do that, so it is still an original, complete, working Pleiads game with all original hardware in great condition. Here is my original description:
This is a fairly rare game in any cabinet - PLEIADS. But in this particular cabinet, it is extremely rare. The most common version was made by (or licensed to) Centuri, and was spelled differently - Pleiades. I have a couple of those too, but this one is the only one I've seen like this.
This game is fully working and in excellent condition. The monitor is an NOS Vision Pro 19" monitor. No screen burn, perfect picture. I bought this from a collector who put new monitors in all his games, then sold them to me. This also has an original Tekhan board, not a bootleg or multigame board.
The cabinet is nice and solid, and has no water damage or major flaws of any kind. The only real noticeable flaw is that the black vinyl stuck to the cabinet sides is peeling on the right side. I think this could be stuck back down with some spray adhesive or something similar. But this is a very minor flaw.
I'm not exactly a huge Pleiads fan, but I know they are out there. For example, the collector I bought this from was a HUGE Pleiads fan - it was one of his favorite games of all time, and this guy had hundreds of games. To be honest, I just haven't played it enough to develop an appreciation. I don't spend a lot of time playing games - I like buying, fixing, and selling them. But playing is not high on my priority list. Maybe someday.
Anyway, this is a very rare cabinet - it is a little bit smaller than a standard cabinet and seems almost like a type of "candy cab" in my opinion.
Please note: Sometimes in the pictures above (and even sometimes in the video), the monitor looks like it isn't displaying correctly. However, that is only because the shutter speed is too fast on my phone camera. So it captures the picture while the monitor is drawing the screen and looks like half the screen is missing. Usually this is not as bad in videos, so watch the video included above and you should be able to see that the monitor has a great picture (although sometimes it looks funny even in videos). You are just going to have to trust me that, unless I specifically mention it above, the picture is good on this monitor in real life.
