This is (I think) my LAST Sega Turbo upright arcade game! If you participated in my last Arcadia Auction, you are probably thinking, "yeah, right. You said that last time..." Well, you are correct, I did say that last time. But I wasn't lieing. It was my last Turbo, and it still is. That one sold but the buyer never picked it up or made any arrangements to ship it or store it. So I am reselling it. You get ONE more chance to get a project Turbo from me!
It is a project, showing very few signs of life. The monitor does make the crackle sound of powering up with high voltage, which is a good sign, but nothing on it. The LEDs on the game boards light up, but the boards are not doing anything as far as I can tell.
The cabinet is pretty solid and in decent shape. It's not perfect by any means, but not bad. The coin doors are in great shape, and it's a good thing to even HAVE the bottom coin door. I've had a bunch of Turbos with the bottom coin door missing. There are two quarter coin mechs installed. And the original cash box is also there, which is a part that also disappears often.
The game does appear to be complete. Even has the original back door. But this one is going to take some effort to get going. It doesn't appear to have water damage, or if it did get wet, it isn't badly damaged.
Turbo is one of the very first driving games and certainly one of the first that was a real hit. We have a mini version of it in our arcade, and it is fairly popular, at least for how old it is. I like the way it has so many different "modes" as you drive along. Reminds me of the old Taito Grand Champion - I wish I still had one of those.
Anyway, this is the last chance you'll have to buy a Turbo from Arcadia Auctions!
