Now we have a really great item here - a FULLY working, decent condition, classic vector game - Atari BATTLEZONE! The picture is amazingly bright and sharp - it's a black and white vector monitor. Battlezone used green and red cellophane over the monitor to change the colors.
This game is running on a "REDZONE" replacement board system that I purchased from Arcadeshop. It is a direct drop-in replacement for the original Battlezone boards, and runs on the original harness / power supply / monitor / etc. Just replaces the original (pretty flaky) battlezone boards with a modern equivalent that is not flaky and works flawlessly.
With this new board system, you can also play THREE OTHER GAMES using the Battlezone controllers and monitor. If you press the start and fire buttons at the same time, it cycles through the FOUR games included: Battlezone, Battlezone 2, Omega Race, and Red Baron. I must say that I am overwhelmed by the utility of this board. So well designed and executed. It even fits right into the same slots that the original boards used. I couldn't ask for any more than this board delivers.
And now you can own an original Battlezone arcade game that you can sleep well at night, knowing that it should keep running for years to come. And I must say, Battlezone 2 is a really cool game - probably more fun than the original with sounds and graphics that will blow you away, all in the original cabinet running on all the original hardware.
This cabinet is in good condition, but not perfect. There are some scratches and rubs on the sides. The front step is pretty rough. (It was put on this cabinet from another battlezone, and it's rougher than this cabinet). The marquee is in great shape, as is the shroud. The paper 3-d backdrop is in great shape. The control panel is in very good condition. The controllers themselves are in outstanding condition with great solid springy return-to-center, which is unusual on an old game like this.
The coin door is in great shape, with a new lock and 2 quarter coin mechs. The cash box is missing. I MIGHT be able to find a compatible one in my warehouse but I can't promise that.
The cabinet does not appear to have much or any water damage. It's nice and solid. I think you will be very happy with this game.
Please note: Sometimes in the pictures above (and even sometimes in the video), the monitor looks like it isn't displaying correctly. However, that is only because the shutter speed is too fast on my phone camera. So it captures the picture while the monitor is drawing the screen and looks like half the screen is missing. Usually this is not as bad in videos, so watch the video included above and you should be able to see that the monitor has a great picture (although sometimes it looks funny even in videos). You are just going to have to trust me that, unless I specifically mention it above, the picture is good on this monitor in real life.
