Description |
This is a really great classic game. It is actually an original Atari MILLIPEDE cocktail cabinet. However, the top glass is from Atari CENTIPEDE. And the game board plays BOTH GAMES! There is a kit available out there that takes Millipede boards and allows you to play both Centipede and Millipede interchangeably just by pressing player 1 and player 2 start buttons at the same time.
This game is in excellent condition! First of all, I rebuilt both trackballs so they roll perfectly smoothly and accurately. The game is running on all original hardware (other than the EPROM upgrade to play both games). The top glass is in very good condition. The control panels are excellent. The cabinet is in great shape and the metal legs are excellent.
By the way, this is a cocktail game that allows you to adjust the height pretty widely. I currently have it in the highest / tallest position. You can lower it 4 more notches. I like it at this standing height, but it is really simple to change it if you want.
By the way, this game is on free play and it will need to be operated on free play. The coin door was removed by a previous owner, and he covered up the area where the coin door used to be so now it looks like there was never a door there. If you are wanting to operate this for quarters, it is possible, but will take some real effort.
I don't think I need to spend much time describing how great a game Centipede is, as well as Millipede. They are both top 10 classic video games, remembered and loved by all. Here is your chance to get a rare cocktail version that plays both games!
Please note: Sometimes in the pictures above (and even sometimes in the video), the monitor looks like it isn't displaying correctly. However, that is only because the shutter speed is too fast on my phone camera. So it captures the picture while the monitor is drawing the screen and looks like half the screen is missing. Usually this is not as bad in videos, so watch the video included above and you should be able to see that the monitor has a great picture (although sometimes it looks funny even in videos). You are just going to have to trust me that, unless I specifically mention it above, the picture is good on this monitor in real life.
