Description |
This is a remarkably nice FROGGER upright arcade game. This Frogger is working 100%, perfectly, and it has had ALL the major electronic components replaced with NEW ones. The monitor is an NOS CRT arcade monitor, with no burn and a perfect picture. The power supply and game board have also been replaced with new versions. The game still plays 100% exactly Frogger in every way, just using new hardware that should be reliable for decades.
The monitor has a phenomenal picture. The controls work and feel great. The sound is perfect - no sounds missing, no distortion, perfect sound. The game has one coin mech and it is working. This is an upright cabinet that was manufactured in Japan. This must have been imported from Japan, so it's pretty rare in the US. Most of the Froggers here were manufactured here in the states.
I know that the pictures above make it look like the monitor has a problem. That is not the case. My camera just has too fast a shutter speed, so it captures the picture on the monitor while it is drawing and leaves half the picture looking blank. Trust me, in real life the picture looks perfect.
CONDITION and RATINGS for THIS SPECIFIC MACHINE:
This Frogger is in excellent condition all around. The cabinet is very nice and solid with NO water damage or other major flaws. The only real flaws on the cabinet are the holes that are drilled on each side along the back edge, most likely to original hold some kind of security bar that prevented access to the internal components. Perhaps in Japan they had a problem with people getting in the backs of arcade games and stealing boards?
Anyway, other than those holes (which are not very noticeable from the front), the cabinet is near perfect. The marquee is very nice and lights up with a new bulb and starter. The monitor bezel(s) are in excellent condition - like new really. The CPO (Control Panel Overlay) is also near perfect - just a slight crack along the front edge, which is nearly universal.
The coin door is in excellent condition, and has one working quarter mech and a lock and original coin box.
You will have a tough time finding a nicer upright Frogger anywhere. And this is an extremely popular and good-earning classic game. It does about as well as any classic game in my arcade - truly a must have if you are running an arcade.
Please note: Sometimes in the pictures above (and even sometimes in the video), the monitor looks like it isn't displaying correctly. However, that is only because the shutter speed is too fast on my phone camera. So it captures the picture while the monitor is drawing the screen and looks like half the screen is missing. Usually this is not as bad in videos, so watch the video included above and you should be able to see that the monitor has a great picture (although sometimes it looks funny even in videos). You are just going to have to trust me that, unless I specifically mention it above, the picture is good on this monitor in real life.
