Quinn’s Auction Galleries is pleased to present an auction of religious works from the 16th-20th century, including 2 incunables from 1492 and 1500. The sale features over 220 lots of rare books and sets on religious commentaries, religious fathers, including some volumes on French History.
This collection features several opera omnia of church doctors and leaders such as the Saints Augustine, Leo, Gregory, Francis De Sales, Basil, and others. Also for auction is a collection of early French Revolutionary pamphlets and publications regarding the plight of the French Catholic Church during 1791-1793, and the effects of the Civil Constitution on the Clergy.
Additionally we are proud to present two incunable volumes: An early publication of Thomas A Kempis's Imitation of Christ from 1492, and Saint Bernard of Clairvaux's Opus Preclarum Melliflui Doctoris, from 1500.
