This is a SUPER nice fully working Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3. It has a perfect picture on the 25" Wells Gardner 7000 series monitor, which I rebuilt myself. I also replaced all of the buttons and joysticks with new ones, and installed new T-molding and new lights for the marquee and coin slots. It is working as good as new, and has AMAZING sound in this very well designed cabinet from Cinematronics.
This cabinet was originally a game like Dragon's Lair 2, but was converted to UMK3 at some point in the past. They did an excellent job with it, though. The marquee looks great, and the control panel is very well laid out - perfectly in fact. The monitor is in the perfect position. This cabinet makes the perfect cabinet for a fighting game like UMK3.
I really should be selling this on eBay, as it turned out so nice that I could probably get a really good price on eBay. But I'm going to just let it go on my own Arcadia Auction. In my opinion, this UMK3 is better to own than a dedicated - the cabinet looks cooler, and let me tell you it is a more compact and easy to move than a dedicated UMK3, which is really a beast to move around. Probably sticks out an extra foot beyond this cabinet.
From what I'm told, UMK3 is the best game in the 5 game series. I don't doubt it - it looks amazing. This cabinet is in excellent condition, but there is some minor cabinet damage on the bottom of the right side. It looks like maybe that side got wet on the bottom once, and it caused some minor expansion / deterioration. But it's not a serious problem at all - the cabinet is still nice and solid and shouldn't be weak or anything.
The cabinet has new locks, LED bulbs to light the coin slots, working coin mechs, a cash box, and the original back door.
I know that in the pictures above, the monitor looks like it isn't displaying correctly. However, that is only because the shutter speed is too fast on my phone camera. So it captures the picture while the monitor is drawing the screen and looks like half the screen is missing. Watch the video included above and you will see that the monitor has a great picture.
