Now this is a cool game, and appears to be mostly working! It's a driving game that is NOT a video game! If you're not familiar with this style of game, take a close look. It's pretty cool technology. It uses a round plastic disc and background wall that rotate with motors that separately turn to simulate you driving around a track, with other cars passing you and coming up for you to pass. Lights shine through these plastics to project a picture on a screen and give you the illusion of driving a car. Really impressive "technology" in my opinion.
This game is pretty much fully working from what I can tell. I'm CERTAIN that it needs some tweaking and maybe some lubrication, as well as some cleaning. But when you coin it up and press start, it resets the score, starts the timer, lights up the driving picture, and starts turning. Then you can press the accelerator which speeds up your car. The scoring seems to work, as you successfully drive without crashing.
Another cool feature: Whenever you run into another car or drive off the road, there is a big solenoid that makes a loud BANG and shakes the steering wheel like you have really gotten in an accident. That is working. It also kind of keeps track of your "place" in the race. That seems to be moving, but I don't know if it's working right or not because I just don't know the game that well.
This game also has a speaker and I believe circuitry to make sound effects as you drive. I didn't seem to get a picture of this circuitry and now I'm not remembering this situation entirely because it's been a couple weeks since I took this video. But anyway, I'm not sure if that is all working 100%.
But for the most part, it appears this thing is working, and should be restorable to 100% in my opinion.
