This is a decent MAGIC SWORD game in a very rare cabinet. I must be honest, I can't figure out WHAT game was originally in this cabinet!?! It looks to me like a Gottlieb cabinet, but I'm not sure of that. It is definitely a vintage game cabinet. It has the rather rare WICO cast iron coin door, that usually has a manufacturer name embossed on the plate in the middle, but this one has no name embossed. If you recognize the cabinet, please message/email/text me and let me know what it was...I'm very curious.
Anyway, that aside, it's a decent cabinet in decent shape. It doesn't appear to have water damage on the bottom, or at least minimal if there is any. The cab is solid and in good condition. It's not perfect though - a little rough in places. It does have the original back door, which doesn't seem to fit real well at the moment - not sure why.
The monitor has a GREAT picture, and I didn't even rebuild it. Didn't seem worth the time/effort as the picture is perfect already. It is a trusty Wells Gardner k7000 monitor, so if you ever do need to do a cap kit or repair it, it's about the easiest monitor to cap kit or repair. These monitors are real workhorses - I would take one anyday in any raster game.
The boards are mostly working - but there is a graphic glitch that doesn't seem to affect game play. I didn't have the time to do any troubleshooting or repair - so I don't know what's causing it. Could just need the chips re-seated or the boards reseated (It's an A+B+C board system)? But the glitch doesn't affect game play, just some of the title screen and background graphics are scrambled in some screens. But the playing area and scoring area are all working so not sure if it's a big deal. And even if it is, maybe it's an easy fix.
Magic Sword is a really fun game. And BTW, this is Capcom CPS1, which has probably 50+ different titles that you can swap just by getting different B+C boards and unplugging one and plugging in another. It's also JAMMA, so you can swap other JAMMA boards just by unplugging the board and plugging in another.
Actually, that's a good point - the easiest way to fix this would be to just buy a Pandora's Box 9 and swap it in place of the original board. Then you can sell the original CPS 1 board for a fortune, and Pandora has Magic Sword on it (plus 1600+ other games). In fact, that's what I should do. But too late - I don't have time as I need to get this auction rolling!!!
I know that in the pictures above, the monitor looks like it isn't displaying correctly. However, that is only because the shutter speed is too fast on my phone camera. So it captures the picture while the monitor is drawing the screen and looks like half the screen is missing. Watch the video included above and you will see that the monitor has a great picture.
