This is a decent ORIGINAL dedicated 1993 Midway MORTAL KOMBAT 2 arcade game. It is fully working and looks great! There are some issues with it, which I will describe in detail below. But first, the game looks really good as the artwork is super bright and vibrant, and not faded.
The boards are fully working, and the monitor is not only working, but has been rebuilt by me and should be reliable. The controls are all BRAND NEW! The game has new red T-molding, and the marquee and coin slots light up with new bulbs.
Now for the bad - this game cabinet was (before I owned it) stored in a place where it got dripped on, and the water really impacted the top panel and the right side of the cabinet. The left was not unscathed, but not nearly as badly harmed as the right side. The top and right side soaked up a lot of water, and you can tell the side has a very ripply texture all over it. The top also has that texture and you can see that it is kind of concaved a little from the water.
When I bought it, the right side had started to separate from the cabinet, but I used PL Premium construction adhesive and a lot of clamps, and I believe that I solidified the cabinet enough that it should be able to survive. I have since moved it a few times from building to building and it has held up well. But I can't promise that it will continue to hold up perfectly in the future because I just don't know. It seems solid when I move it. So I am pretty confident that you can buy this and get it home and moved into place without an issue.
And once you get it moved into your rec room or arcade, it looks just fine and plays great! In fact the water didn't seem to affect the front of the game much at all - from the front the thing looks really nice and in excellent condition.
I know in the pictures above, the monitor looks like it isn't displaying right, but that's just because the shutter speed is too fast on my phone camera. So it captures the picture while the monitor is drawing the screen and looks like half the screen is missing. Trust me, or just watch the video above, and you will see that the monitor has a perfect picture.
