This is a decent condition fully working ROUGH RANGER arcade game! I really am on the fence about selling this, as I feel like I should keep it for my next arcade. There aren't very many fully working Rough ranger games left out there, and this is the only one I've ever had. I am only selling it because I am trying to force myself to thin my herd and make some space in the warehouse.
This is in a decent Williams DEFENDER cabinet. I would say you can convert this back to Defender, and that's true, you could. But there are plenty of Defender cabinets out there. I think I've seen more conversion games in Defender cabinets than any other game cabinet. I would keep this as a Rough Ranger...it is getting to be a rare title.
This is running on an original Rough Ranger PCB, with a newish HAPP controls power supply, and a newer Vision Pro 19" monitor. It's the last Vision Pro monitor they made, so one of the newest CRT monitors out there. The picture is gorgeous. There is a little bit of "noise" in the picture, as you can probably see in the video. This noise will go away with a cap kit (where you just replace all of the electrolytic capacitors with new ones). It's about $3 worth of capacitors and some easy soldering.
It's not necessary - the game is completely playable and looks ok the way it is, but if you want it to look perfect, do the cap kit.
This comes with a back door (a little rough). The marquee light works.
I know in the pictures above, the monitor looks like it isn't displaying right, but that's just because the shutter speed is too fast on my phone camera. So it captures the picture while the monitor is drawing the screen and looks like half the screen is missing. Trust me, or just watch the video above, and you will see that the monitor has a perfect picture.
