This is a really nice condition, top of the line, AMI Rowe Wall-mounted CD Jukebox - one of the last ones they ever made before everything went streaming. The model is AP-100 STORM.
It is in nearly immaculate condition inside and out. It is not, however, fully working. It is mostly working and without a doubt repairable, but I didn't have the time to do this. I'm a little bummed because I really wanted to use this in the expansion room of my arcade. I have a different CD Jukebox in the main room and people really like it. But I just don't know anything about jukeboxes and couldn't summon up the interest in overcoming yet another learning curve so I'm just selling this as-is.
It powers up, lights up, and appears to work in every way, EXCEPT that it just grabs the CD selected out of the carousel and starts to spin it up, then rejects it like it is unable to read it. My strong guess is that the CD Player unit just needs either cleaned, lubed, serviced, or replaced. It probably is unable to read the CD and tells the juke computer this, so the juke rejects the CD.
There is probably a pretty simple answer to this out there. And I'll bet there are people who sell the CD player part of this box for cheap, probably on eBay. But I just don't want to know. I have too many projects and too many ambitions. I NEED to stop adding to my list of things to do. I am too old to finish the projects I have now. Please just buy this thing and fix it yourself. Heck, then you can call me and sell it back to me working for a profit....I would do that. Then come and work for me, fixing projects like this for me so I don't have to anymore.
The coin door appears to be missing - another thing I'm sure is available out there on the good ole internet. The bill acceptor / stacker unit is fully working, and gives credits on the display which is also fully working.
It's impressive that Rowe could pack this much jukebox into such a small package. I mean this thing has a 250W / channel amplifier, a carousel that holds 100 CDs, CD player, electronically flipping pages that hold 100 CD Jackets, coin / bill acceptance, computer, display, etc, all into this little tiny box. Although don't be fooled - it may be small but it is HEAVY. I mean hundreds of pounds. Do not try lifting it yourself. We will help load though.
