All firearms other than shotguns and rifles, and all ammunition other than ammunition for shotguns or rifles may be sold only to individuals 21 years of age or older. Licensees are bound by the minimum age requirements established by the GCA regardless of state or local law. However, if state law or local ordinances establish a higher minimum age for the purchase or disposition of firearms, the licensee must observe the higher age requirement. Some listed items may not be legal in every state. Buyer will be responsible for shipping fees. Background Checks We perform background checks through the FBI NICS e-check system. If you are approved, we can proceed with the transaction and you can take the firearm with you. If it’s delayed, you cannot have possession of the firearm until you’ve been approved, which usually occurs within three business days. In this case, please write your phone number at the top of Form 4473. If you are denied, all of your money will be refunded (minus a $50.00 processing fee). A large Collection of JR Hamil Printers Plates of KU Campus Buildings, Fraternity and Sorority Houses and a few Lawarence Locations. He Graduated from KU in 1958 and was known to have done many prints of KU buildings to help fund his education. This Group of Plates were done during this time frame 1956-1959 perhaps the FIRST PROFESSIONAL works done by this well know artist. J.R. "Jim" Hamil (1937-2022) was a beloved Kansas City watercolor artist known for his iconic paintings of regional landmarks like the Country Club Plaza and Midwestern landscapes, starting his career at Hallmark before establishing his own studio in 1973 to focus on capturing the quiet beauty of the plains, towns, and mountains, leaving behind a significant legacy of art and prints that celebrated local heritage and natural scenes. Early Life & Education Born in Hastings, Nebraska, Hamil moved to the Kansas City area in 1951. He graduated from Shawnee Mission High School in 1954 and the University of Kansas (KU) in 1958 with a BFA in Visual Communications. While at KU, he gained early recognition for his pen-and-ink sketches of campus landmarks, which helped fund his tuition. Career Highlights Hallmark Cards (1958-1973): Hamil worked as a stylist, creating nearly 200 watercolor illustrations for cards, books, and wrapping paper. Studio Artist (1973-2022): He opened his own studio and gallery to pursue painting for exhibitions and commissions, focusing on his passion for Midwestern landscapes and regional scenes. Published Works: He illustrated his father's book Farmland, USA and later collaborated on books like Colorado Treasures, showcasing his love for the natural world. Style: Known for his distinctive watercolor style, reduced palette, and ability to capture the atmosphere and quiet balance of a place, his work often depicted farmhouses, small towns, and iconic cityscapes.
