Description: Scooby Doo
Is a very handsome bay roan gelding, 2016 model, making him 8 years old. He stands 15.1 hands and is thick built. He’s been used on the ranch, gathered cattle, paired out cow/calf pairs, pulls the transport sled during calving season, roped and doctored calves, tracks cattle and follows the heel-o-matic out of the box with a sitting stop. With more hauling, he’d be a jam up break away horse. We’ve halter broke colts off him and gathered broodmares out on rough country. He has a business type personality and will walk up to you in the pasture to be caught. He’s never been given cookies or treats and respects your bubble space. Scooby neck reins, moves easy off leg pressure, has seen a hard days work, and has been used. He’s a lot of fun to ride and does what is asked of him. Because he is responsive, aware of his surroundings ,and more automatic to cues, we don’t recommend a beginner, BUT a handy kid needing a step up horse would really have fun on him. He prefers someone with confidence and kindness. He’s trotting a solid and correct barrel pattern and can go on with a knowledgeable barrel horse trainer to take him to the next step. He isn’t hot or silly and is a dream in the arena. He’d excel in ranch horse versatility, intro to reined cow horse, sorting/penning, breakaway — take him back to the ranch and use him or take him down the trail and enjoy him. He has endless possibilities and will go any direction you want.
Scooby doo is easy to shoe, bathe, load/haul, catch, tie, saddle, and to be around. Scooby Doo is 100% sound in movement, vision, hearing, wind/air, and mind. -Being a using ranch horse, he has a few smaller scars from wire cuts but in absolutely no way does it affect his soundness, the way anything grows, or any of his abilities in anyway. You probably wouldn’t notice if nothing was said. Pictures attached-. His current coggins gets him a ticket to anywhere in the country. Hauling can be arranged across the nation.
