This is a pair of really old coffee machines. I believe it was originally 5 cents. Both of these machines are missing a lot of stuff, but it looks like between the two there MIGHT be enough parts to make a complete one. Probably not, but it would be close. They are both missing the sign on top. I included a picture at the end of the list of photos just showing what the sign IS SUPPOSED TO look like. IT IS NOT INCLUDED.
They have not been in operation for probably over 50 years, so definitely major projects. One of them got wet on the bottom and the bottom is rusting out badly - it can't even stand up straight anymore. The other can stand up and is in better condition.
They do have a lot of stuff and mechanics in them though.
These machines came from a mini-warehouse that I purchased all the stuff from in the old National Mini Warehouses in Champaign, IL back in about 1993. I used to have 7 of the biggest units they had (16 x 36) before I started buying buildings in McLean, IL. So while I was renting there, the manager told me that an old lady was closing out her account and wanted to get rid of all the stuff in her unit, and he thought I might be interested.
I met her and looked inside - it was a unit full of old vending machines. I mean really old. Like these coffee machines. Originally I think there were 5 of 6 of these, plus several other styles of coffee machine, some soup machines, and maybe a few other things. She wanted like $500 for everything and I paid her for it just to be nice. She was the daughter of the guy who had operated these machines. She told me that he shut down his vending route and put all of these machines in storage - 28 years ago - and had been paying monthly rent to keep them all that time, never even going to the unit again. So 28 years back from 1993 means about 1965 is when he put them in there. But he had been operating them for decades, so odds are they are from the 40s.
Anyway, they then moved to my warehouse, where they have sat ever since. I disposed of some of the worst ones, sold a few to people over the years. Never seen anything like them before or since. I think the better one of these could be restored. That would be such a cool thing to have in your rec room.
There is also an extra set of metal legs that I'm not sure what they are for....might work for the one of these that has rotted, rusted legs in back.
Thanks for your interest! Another one of a kind item from Arcadia Auctions!
