It is with extreme hesitance that I am selling this FLIP FLOP pinball. It is actually one of my favorite pinballs to play in my arcade (Pinball Paradise). I like it because it is such a challenging game, and because it helps teach you how to subtly shake a pinball to save the ball when it drains. Just watch my video - I kind of explain this.
Anyway, this Flip Flop is in remarkably good condition. The only real condition issue is that there is some wear on the playfield in the lower portion. You can see this in my pictures and video. It is to be expected on a near 50 year old pinball. But still unfortunate. The worn spots all appear to be mostly in a solid red area, so touch up may be an option and actually not that hard. Personally, I don't care one bit about wear on a playfield of a pinball, as I think it is to be expected and gives it the patina of a vintage game. I personally find it aesthetically pleasing. But I am more bothered personally by cabinet or backglass wear / flaking / imperfections. And although a lot of my games have those problems, this one does not.
The cabinet on this game is Excellent! It really looks nice and crisp and sharp and in outstanding condition. Nice artwork too. The backglass is literally perfect. I can't find a flaw anywhere. And I absolutely love the artwork on the backglass. I'm really going to miss this game and I fear I will regret selling it.
Frankly the only reason I'm listing it is because I needed to come up with more game, and specifically more pinballs for this sale, in order to raise money to pay my property taxes. So I went through the arcade and decided I had to pick two games to sell. I guess one reason I settled on this one is that it was a popular enough game that I am confident I will find another one someday and replace it. Most of my other vintage pins in the arcade are rather rare. But who knows - you may see them in upcoming auctions as well.
This game plays great! I fully shopped it just before putting it in the arcade, which was a while ago - maybe a year? I honestly can't remember the exact date but that's roughly right. So it has a little wear on it since then, but not too much. It has been relatively popular since putting it in (as you can see from the cash box in the pictures). But I probably play it more than anyone else because I enjoy it so much.
I did LED it when I shopped it, so it has nice bright lamps that should never burn out. I used red LEDs under the red plastics, which I think makes it really look sharp. The backglass lights up so nice and pretty with the warm white light and cool white over the scores. The flippers are nice and strong, and everything works well on the game. It will come with working quarter coin mechs, and I can put a lock on it for you. It's going to be in Pinball Paradise until you come to get it, so you're welcome to come by and play it before bidding if you want! I will be collecting the money out of it before you pick it up, so keep in mind that the quarters are not included. lol.
