This is a decent, working, 1984 Data East KUNG FU MASTER Video Arcade game. It is in a Stern Berzerk cabinet, and the conversion was pretty nicely done frankly. Berzerk is a great cabinet - the shape is classic, the monitor is at a great angle, and the control panel is nice. Plus it has a little access door in the front of the cabinet, which reveals a board mounting wall that actually pulls smoothly out for service. I've always liked this cabinet.
This game is working well. The monitor is a Wells 4600, which is my favorite 19 inch monitor. It is a workhorse, has a great picture, a solid tube that seems to last forever, and is extremely dependable. I rebuilt this monitor personally this week, so it should be good for another 4 decades (in my humble opinion).
The game boards are original Kung Fu Master boards - not a bootleg. They are working fine. This is really a fun game, and I have a lot of great memories of this game. It was in the Pit Stop gas station near my high school, and I would go there on my lunch break and usually watch other people play it. Occasionally I would have an extra quarter and would play it myself. It has great sound effects and music.
This cabinet is a little rough around the edges - it looks like it got wet on top at the back, because there is a little water damage along the back edge of the top, and the back door is in terrible condition. Looks like the back door soaked up a lot of water and it is barely holding together. The rest of the cabinet doesn't appear to have water damage. The game is on 2 x 4 runners which can be removed if you want.
The game has two quarter coin mechs and an original cash box. There is some surface rust on the coin door that you could probably get off with some steel wool.
The marquee and monitor bezel are in near perfect condition and look really nice and vibrant. The control panel looks like it is probably in decent shape too, but needs to be taken apart and cleaned under the plexiglass cover. I did not have the time to do this. But you could do it and then the game would look a lot better in my opinion.
I know that in the pictures above, the monitor looks like it isn't displaying correctly. However, that is only because the shutter speed is too fast on my phone camera. So it captures the picture while the monitor is drawing the screen and looks like half the screen is missing. Watch the video included above and you will see that the monitor has a great picture.
