PRIME POST WAR LIONEL TRAIN COLLECTION FROM THE ESTATE OF JEFFREY CARLSON, HARRISBURG, PA
Pictures will be posted as they become available.
Jeffrey assembled a well-curated collection of top-condition POST WAR LIONEL TRAINS. He especially liked Pennsylvania GG1s and collected numerous variations of these and other impressive engines of the POST WAR ERA.
Jeff attended Maurer's live auctions for 35+ years, where he sat in the front row (auctioneer's right) amongst his friends Rick (RIP dear friend), Jay and Paul. Behind them sat Frank and Tom, two of the nicest guys you'd ever hope to meet. It was a lively corner, and we enjoyed their friendly banter, laughter and insight. From this vantage, he had an uninterrupted, close-up view of auction action: the antics of the auction staff and interactions with fellow customers and collectors.
Jeff was a mellow, cool cat, who was able to stay above the fray, while keeping an eye out for choice and desirable additions to his collection. His patience and perseverance are in evidence here - most everything is in above average condition and is representative of the variations Lionel produced during this period.
GG1s, twin diesel sets, FM Trainmaster diesels and switchers. Impressive steam locomotives and tenders include the 773 Hudson and other favorites. A good selection of boxed sets, as well as a full range of motive power. Passenger equipment, rolling stock and accessories.
The October 5 auction will include 222 prime lots. October 26 will include more boxed sets, a good array of Santa Fe motive power, multiple PRR EP-5 electric locos, GP-9s, 44-ton diesel switchers, MOW vehicles, operating freights and animated accessories.
Please enjoy, as Jeff always did, the thrill of collecting and the joy of camaraderie!
