Description
Seller: Madyson Wilkey Group Affiliation: Las Plumas FFA Species: Hog Animal Weight: 218 lbs My name is Madyson Wilkey, And I am a sophomore at Butte college and I am working on getting the classes I need to get done for being a dental hygienist. My pig Penelope is my last pig for the Butte County Fair. As hard as it is to say that it is my last fair, I am very grateful that I have had the experiences and have met the people I have through FFA. As this being my last year I am very grateful to have had an opportunity to be able to show pigs and as a project to show how hard I have worked on penelope. Over these 4 years I have been in FFA I have gained so much knowledge I now hold when it comes to raising my market animals for fair and all the classes I have taken. In Highschool I was an officer for two years, My junior year I was Treasurer and my senior year I was Secretary. When I graduated I finished 3 pathways. Some hobbies I enjoy are spending time with my pig, Going out on the lake and surfing, And going on hikes. I purchased my pig in early march and she has been a very well behaved pig. She is currently weighing around 220 Pounds. I have worked very hard with her these past months with walking her and getting her to the current weight she is at the moment. I am writing this letter to ask you for your possible interest in purchasing my pig at the junior livestock auction Saturday August 24 at 10:00 AM. Or possibly Show day Wednesday August 21 at 8:00 am Thankyou for taking time out of your day to read this. If you have any questions please feel free to reach out. You can either participate in person at the Butte County Fair or online at bidcal.com. - If you are out bid online, you will receive an email to tell you that you have been out bid on that lot. You may bid again at your desire. - Bids will be fixed amounts (not traditional BidCal Max bidding). What does this mean? If the bid is at $5 a pound & you bid $10 a pound, the computer will automatically put you in at $10 a pound. - Online bidders after winning a lot will be asked to designate how they want their animal processed in the chat window. After wining your lot, please provide a timely response to designate custom or resale. If we don't hear from you, your lot will automatically go resale. - See below for terms of sale. What are your options as a buyer? - The winning bidder of each lot will have the choice of (1) CUSTOM PROCESSED or (2) RESELLING THE ANIMAL. Details of each option are as follows: Option 1: CUSTOM PROCESSED The animal will be processed, inspected and delivered to one of the designated lockers in the area. You will need to indicate your preference of butcher shops and make arrangements with them for cutting instructions. Any animal that is left over 60 days at a butcher shop may be disposed of at the discretion of that shop. If you purchase a custom processed animal, an additional processing fee applies and will be reflected on your invoice from the fair. You are also responsible for the cut and wrap fee to be paid to the butcher shop when you pick the animal up. Option 2: RESELLING THE ANIMAL Animals that are bought by individuals who do not desire the meat will be resold at market price to the packer for a set per pound price and that amount is then subtracted from the buyer's bill by the fair. Example: Hog weighs 250lbs. If Resale Price is $.80/lb. which equals $200 Your Winning Bid Price is $4.00/lb ($1000); The difference is $800, which is the amount that you will be responsible for paying. Resale Prices: The resale amounts are calculated by the weight of the animal. The official certified weight will be listed on each lot. THERE IS NO LIVE ANIMAL PICK-UP! How to Add-On Support to the Exhibitors BidCal will be facilitating Add-On Bids for lots sold in the auction.
