Description
1970-D Washington Silver Quarter TYPE H Reverse (proof die). Commonly referred to as the Type B, but not accurate. They are both the same principal (Proof dies used on business strike coins) but, they are 2 different reverses. Type H Uses the proof reverse (RDV-008) that was intended for use on Proof Coins from 1968-1972. The variety is when that reverse was used on a business strike coin - usually 1969-D, 1970-D, 1971-D and 1972-D. Type B Uses the proof reverse (RDV-002) that was intended for use on Proof Coins from 1937-1942 and 1950-1964. The variety is when that reverse die was used on a business strike coin - usually from 1956 - 1964. This one is in circulated condition, as most are. A very scarce variety to locate.
