Description
54” x 77” Classic Navajo blanket, ca: 1860. 12 warps per inch, high stitch count, very tightly woven. Tested by Dr. David Wenger, red is 50percent cochineal and 50percent Lac.rndark blue and light blue is Indigo. Includes Indigo green design elements, has old selvedge thread repair on one side, possible repair to opposite selvedge, several very small holes, eight small approx. 1”L. old native repairs. but overall in amazing condition from an old California estate. Wonderful early artistry.
