Lead Framed Summer Delight by Tony Biagi
Description
Has Certificate of Authenticity No 49/1000 Approx 31.5x22.5h Brief History About Artist Tony Biagi Biagi is a veteran of the Viet-Nam War, serving his country with the 101st Airborne Division from 1959 to 1968. Biagi was in *A" Company, 327th Infantry. 2nd Battalion, Ist Brigade It was in Viet-Nam from a hospital bed that Biagi found a God given talent Being confined to his bed for two months, was very boring. to say the least. Eating in bed. sleeping, and washing in bed. so the Red Cross suggested a paint by number set. From that first day, he advanced to copying things out of magazines, painting free hand. He painted and gave them away to his fellow soldiers in the hospital, except for five paintings that he brought back home with him. Thirty years have passed since that hospital bed in Viet-Nam. A lot has happened in those thirty years, some good memories and some not so good. Traveling some forty states from New York to California for fifteen years. Promoting himself and his work. Meeting some very interesting people and some very important people. such as the celebrated Roger Tory Peterson, author and artist of more bird books than any other artist in the world; four million copies sold and another four million copies had to be reprinted. Mr. Peterson liked Biagi's early work and advised him to keep painting no matter what he had to endure to make ends meet. Maynard Reece, five-time Federal Duck Stamp winner. the only artist in the world to this date that can claim that prestigious honor, was another artist that Biagi and his wife Joyce enjoyed meeting and talking to while at his house in lowa. Mr. Reece also advised Biagi to continue his art career. He saw promise in Biagi's work. Another pleasant memory was when he met Guy Coleache, another world famous master artist. One of the bad times in Biagi's life was when he lost his wife of fifteen years. Alice, who accidently drowned by Cumberland City. Tennessee while on a fun time together. His career ended that day. For a while it didn't look like he would paint again until the Lord. Jesus Christ. one day changed his life. He became a Christian and met Joyce Bartee. who also is a Christian. They later married and Biagi continued his career. They traveled together for ten years. meeting people and promoting Biagi's art work. Today, some three congressmen, two governors. and President Jimmy Carter own some of Biagi's prints. Six corporations own corporate art collections of Biagi's original paintings. And thousands of offices across the United States have Biagi's prints decorating their walls. To this date, about 30.000 Biagi prints are in forty states. either in private homes or offices. Fifty of his works hang in Europe and the Netherlands. Biagi travels very little these days because of having his own studio and gallery in Clarksville where he paints. and he and his wife, Joyce sell his work. The studio and gallery is located at 901 Madison Street. Clarksville, Tennessee 37040. Phone: (615) 647-2828. Biagi and his wife. Joyce, live in Clarksville. Tennessee. They attend the "First Church of the Nazarene". . 150 Richview Road
