Ranging in size from 17-inches to 60-inches, the iPF line incorporates numerous Canon innovations. Their high-speed L-COA processor integrates the processing for printer protocols, image processing and printer control onto a single chip, there’s noticeably less lag time in printing. Ink flows through large, one-inch print-heads, each with 2,560 nozzles per color (for a total of 30,720 nozzles.) This enables incredibly fine 4pl ink droplets and print resolutions up to 2400 x 1200 dpi. Canon’s durable LUCIA EX and LUCIA pigment inks for the 8-color and 12-color printers deliver the delicate color gradation and high-definition sharpness favored for giclee, fine art reproductions and photographic prints. Even the Reactive Ink technology Canon uses in their 5-color printers delivers exceptional image clarity and durability. Canon is so obsessed with color quality that all color iPF printers have a built-in color calibration system for consistently accurate results from the first print to the last. Once calibrated, ink output is automatically adjusted for optimum ink usage on whatever media is being used.
