• This item certainly will be the centerpiece of your collection. I have only seen this version (we had her “sister” in our last auction) one other time
• Brio, who was a distributor for Mattel in Scandinavia in the 1960’s, distributed custom store displays and dressed box dolls which rarely surface. Brio had a company policy that required dealers to return all Brio promotional merchandise back to Brio. As a result, these special items have rarely survived for collectors to acquire, making them extremely rare. Discovering a display like this in such beautiful condition is an extraordinary find
• This incredible item features Swedish graphics on a beautifully preserved display board, and showcases an amazing Golden Blonde Swirl with a stunning up-do in her ponytail wearing a mint Jr. Prom gown
• What is intriguing about this piece is that the graphics relate to the 1965 version of Barbie’s Queen of the Prom Game, and feature the white box illustration of this game
• Research indicates that this may have been a store display relating to the introduction of the Queen of the Prom Game, as the Swedish writing on the display refers to “Barbie The Game, Prom Queen an Exciting Game”
• The doll has reddish-coral full lips, striking face paint, matte face vinyl and dark brows
• Due to age she has some very slight shelf dust on face and hair that can easily be resolved
• No earring holes at ears
• Hair is shiny mint and pristine and ponytail has a special unique factory up-do style
• She is mint by all appearances; and is attached to the display board with a thin silver wire at her neck and feet
• She is wearing a pristine Junior Prom gown; her red open toe shoes are present
• The excellent to near mint display board is a two layered fiberboard construction, the underlying board is bright yellow with miniscule rubs in the paint at two corners. The top layer is painted black and has bright red, white and yellow graphics
• Backing is in excellent condition, no marks or stains
• There are various options available for creating a custom Plexiglass case for this item if you wish to display her in a case, at a very reasonable cost. We'd be happy to assist you in finding a company that can meet your specific needs
• Due to size oversize UPS charges will apply
• Suggested $3495-$4500
