Bidder Registration
To complete your online bidder registration, just click on the drop down menu on our homepage.
In order to create your account, we will require your full name, address, telephone number, credit card number. When the sale opens, you will be able to place bids online in real time on the bidding platform you have chosen. These include Invaluable, Liveauctioneers, and Proxibid.
Absentee Bids
Auctions Imperial will execute absentee bids on your behalf. This service is free and confidential. You may place absentee bids on our website at www.auctionsimperial.com, by using the absentee bid form found on our site. Use this form to submit the maximum bid amount you are willing to make. Your absentee bid form must also contain the information required for registration. Auctions Imperial must receive the bid form at least 24 hours prior to the start of the auction in order to place bids on your behalf.
When we execute an absentee bid on your behalf, the lot will always be bought for the lowest increment that exceeds all competing bids and which meets or exceeds the reserve price. In the event of identical bids, the earliest received will take precedence. Please note that we are unable to execute "Buy" or unlimited bids.
Successful absentee bidders will be invoiced following the auction.
Telephone Bids
The Absentee Bid form may also used to register for telephone bidding. Based on the information you provide on the form, an Auctions Imperial representative will contact you from the saleroom prior to your specified lot(s) and will relay your bids to the auctioneer. As the number of telephone lines is limited, it is necessary to make arrangements for this service at least 48 hours before the sale.
Telephone bids are accepted at the sole discretion of Auctions Imperial and at the prospective buyer's risk. Telephone bidding lines may be recorded for the security of both parties; by bidding on the telephone prospective buyers consent thereto.Written and telephone bids are offered as an additional service at no extra charge, and at the buyer's risk. Auctions Imperial cannot accept liability for failure to place such bids.
Internet Bidding
Auctions Imperial accepts Internet bidding via Invaluable, LiveAuctioneers and Proxibid. You must pre-register through these platforms at least 48 hours prior to the auction in order to bid online. A valid credit card is required for online bidding, and winning bids will be charged to this card unless bidder has made other payment arrangements in advance with Auctions Imperial.
Buyer's Premium & Tax
Please note that Auctions Imperial Buyer's Premium and any local taxes will be payable on successful bids. Thus the "hammer price" - the actual winning bid - is less than the amount the purchaser will pay. Consult an Auctions Imperial representative for more information before placing a bid. The buyer will also be responsible for any duties or VAT required upon importation into another country.
Payment
Auctions Imperial accepts via payment via MasterCard, Visa and American Express only (subject to certain restrictions and fees). Wire transfers must be arranged and approved in advance. Payment is accepted in USD only and there is a $50 cahrge to bidders for this service. Invoices are emailed following the sale. Auctions Imperial must receive payment in full within 48 hours of the sale. Payments not received within that time will incur a storage fee of $20 per lot per day plus a 2% per month interest fee on any outstanding balance.

All property offered and sold through Auctions Imperial, (hereafter referred to as the "Company" or the “Auctioneer”) shall be offered and sold on the terms and conditions set forth in these Conditions of Sale. By participating in any sale, you acknowledge that you are bound by these terms and conditions.
Auctions Imperial has made every effort to catalogue and describe accurately property to be sold. The Company, however, assumes no risk, liability or responsibility for the identification or authenticity or authorship, or weight, count, or measure of any property identified in its catalogue or lists of sale. This shall include, among others, the identity of the creator, the period, culture, source of origin, as the case may be, with which the creation of any property is identified in any publication
ALL PROPERTY IS SOLD "AS IS." AUCTIONS IMPERIAL MAKES NO WARRANTIES OR REPRESENTATIONS OF ANY KIND WITH RESPECT TO ANY PROPERTY OFFERED FOR SALE. Auctions Imperial reserves the right to withdraw any property at any time before the fall of the hammer in its sole and exclusive discretion.
Unless otherwise announced by the auctioneer at the time of sale, all bids are per lot as numbered in the printed catalogue. The Company reserves the right to determine any and all matters regarding the order, precedence or appropriate increment of bids or the constitution of lots.
The highest bidder acknowledged by the auctioneer shall be the purchaser. In the event of any dispute between bidders, the auctioneer shall have the sole and final discretion either to determine the successful bidder or to re-offer and resell the article in dispute. If any dispute arises after sale, the Company's sale record shall be conclusive in all respects.
If the auctioneer determines that any opening or later bid or any advance of bidding is not commensurate with the value of the article offered, the auctioneer may reject the same and withdraw the article from sale.
Upon the fall of the hammer, title to any offered lot or article will immediately pass to the highest bidder as determined in the exclusive discretion of the auctioneer. Such bidder thereupon assumes full risk and responsibility for the property sold, agrees to sign any requested confirmation of purchase, and agrees to pay the full purchase price therefore or such part upon such terms as the Company may require. All property shall be paid for and removed by the purchaser at his/her expense within ten (10) days of sale and, if not so removed, may be sold by the Company, or sent by the Company to a public warehouse, at the sole risk and charge of the purchaser(s), and the Company may pursue the purchaser(s) through civil prosecution and/ or bar the purchaser(s) from participating, directly or indirectly, as a bidder or purchaser in any future sale or sales. The Company will not be responsible for any loss, damage, theft, or otherwise responsible for any goods left in the Company's possession after ten (10) days. If the foregoing conditions or any applicable provisions of law are not complied with, in addition to other remedies available to the Company and the Consignor (including without limitation the right to hold the purchaser(s) liable for the bid price) the Company, at its option, may either cancel the sale, retaining as liquidated damages all payments made by the purchaser(s), or resell the property. In such event, the purchaser(s) shall remain liable for any deficiency in the original purchase price and will also be responsible for all costs, including warehousing, the expense of the ultimate sale, and the Company's commission at its regular rates together with all related and incidental charges, including legal fees. Payment is a precondition to removal. Payment by US buyers shall be by cash (at the auction venue only), credit card, check, money order, certified check or similar bank draft, or any other method approved by the Company. Buyers outside of the US must pay by money order or wire transfer unless they have made prior arrangements with the Company. Checks will not be deemed to constitute payment until cleared. The Company will charge interest of two percent (2%) per month on any balance remaining thirty (30) days after the day of sale. Any exceptions must be made upon the Company's written approval of credit prior to sale.
Unless the sale is advertised and announced as "without reserve", each lot is subject to a reserve price below which the lot will not be sold. Where the Consignor is indebted to the Company, the Company may have an interest in the offered lots and the proceeds there from other than the Broker's Commissions, and all sales are subject to any such interest.
No "buy" bids shall be accepted at any time for any purpose.
Any pre-sale, aka absentee, bids must be left in writing with the Company prior to commencement of offer of the first lot of any sale. The Company's copy of any such bid shall conclusively be deemed to be the sole evidence of same, and the Company shall not be held responsible for any failure to execute any pre-sale bid.
A buyer's premium will be added to the successful bid price and is payable by the purchaser as part of the total purchase price. The buyer's premium is 19% of the successful bid price up to and including $200,000.00 and 15% on any amount in excess of $200,000.00.
Auctions Imperial has engaged the services of Live Auctioneers as a courtesy to its customers who wish to bid and buy online. Please proceed to www.liveauctioneers.com for all necessary information on how to bid and buy online using these systems. The user of Live Auctioneers indemnifies and holds the Company and its Consignors harmless against any claim arising out of or resulting from use of Live Auctioneers including all losses, damages, liabilities, and all fees (including attorney's fees,) costs, and expenses incurred in connection with any claim. Under no circumstances, including, but not limited to, negligence, shall the Company and its Consignors be liable for lost profits or any special, incidental, or consequential damages that result from the use of, or the inability to use, this site.
Lots won by successful bidders who have arranged for packing and shipment through Auctions Imperial will be shipped within ten (10) days of receipt of payment.
Clients are required to provide valid credit card information on registration, telephone and absentee bid forms. Imperial Auctions will treat this credit card as the method of payment for all outstanding invoices unless the client has made prior arrangements with and received approval from the Company for an alternate method of payment. We will charge this credit card for any winning bid at conclusion of auction. If the credit card purchase is declined at that time, Imperial Auctions reserves the right to begin collection proceedings, up to and including legal action. Purchaser will be liable for all costs associated with those proceedings. By registering, in person or online, you hereby acknowledge and agree to the preceding.
Unless exempted by law from the payment thereof, the purchaser will be required to pay any and all applicable state and/or local sales taxes, Customs Duties or VATs. Deliveries to be made outside the state where a sale is conducted may therefore be subject to a corresponding or compensating tax in another state.

To begin, search our catalogue, either in print or online at www.auctionsimperial.com, and then either examine the lots you are interested in during the pre-sale exhibition and/or communicate with our specialists if you have questions.
There are four basic steps to purchasing at Auctions Imperial:

Bidder Registration
A bidder registration form is provided with each catalog and is also available on our website. Fill out the form completely and submit it online or return it directly to the Registration Desk the night of the auction. You will then be issued a client number.
Bidding in Person
To bid in person, you will need to complete the bidder registration form and collect a numbered paddle before the auction begins. You will also need a government-issued proof of identity, such as a driver’s license or passport. You will be asked for your address, telephone number, credit card number and signature in order to create your account. If you are bidding on behalf of a third party, you will need to provide a notarized affidavit from that person authorizing you to bid on his/her behalf.
To place your bid, simply raise your paddle until the auctioneer acknowledges you. You will know when your bid has been acknowledged; the auctioneer will not mistake a random gesture for a bid. The bidding increments are determined by the auctioneer, and will usually not exceed ten percent of the previous bid. The auctioneer will take increasing bids on each lot, until only one bidder remains. The final bidder purchases the lot. A sale lot may have a reserve, which is the confidential minimum selling price previously agreed upon with the seller. If the bidding fails to reach the reserve price, the lot will remain unsold.
Absentee Bids
If you are unable to attend the auction in person, Auctions Imperial will execute written bids on your behalf. This service is free and confidential. You may place absentee bids on our website at www.auctionsimperial.com, by using the absentee bid form at the back of each catalog, or by downloading and printing it at www.auctionsimperial.com under the FORMS tab. Use this form to submit the maximum bid amount you are willing to make. Your absentee bid form must also contain the information required for registration; we will contact you prior to the auction to confirm your identity and verify your bid. Completed absentee bid forms may be returned to Auctions Imperial online or in person with any staff member. Auctions Imperial must receive the bid form at least 24 hours prior to the start of the auction in order to place bids on your behalf.
When we execute an absentee bid on your behalf, the lot will always be bought for the lowest increment that exceeds all competing bids and which meets or exceeds the reserve price. In the event of identical bids, the earliest received will take precedence. Auctions Imperial requires all non-US bidders to advance a deposit equal to 1/3 of the value of bids placed.
We are unable to execute “Buy” or unlimited bids.
Written and telephone bids are offered as an additional service at no extra charge, and at the buyer’s risk. Auctions Imperial cannot accept liability for failure to place such bids.

Auctions Imperial must receive payment in full within 10 days of the sale. Payments not received within 10 days will incur a storage fee of $20 per lot per day plus a 2% per month interest fee on any outstanding balance. Your credit card information, including number, expiration date and CVV number, will be required in order to register to bid; if you do not attend the auction in person, your invoice total will automatically be charged to this card unless you have made other arrangements with Auctions Imperial before the auction.
