Dear Potential Buyer,
My name is Payton Berresch, I am 16 years old and an incoming senior at Gridley High School. Today I am writing to inform you about a high-quality BBQ that will be for sale at the Butte County Fair (BCF) that I have designed and built.
BCF is attempting to reintroduce the Agriculture Mechanics project back into the fairgrounds as well as the auction and today I am here to share my BBQ. It all started in December of 2023 when I was informed that this opportunity had arisen and I wanted to take charge and be a part of bringing this program back and doing what I truly enjoy, fabricating projects from the ground up. Over the last couple of months, the BBQ has been designed on paper with a rough draft, cut out using a plasma arc-cutting machine, welded together, sandblasted, and powder coated by myself.
Throughout this project, I have learned so many new things about fabrication and have truly enjoyed building this project especially for your family to use on a nice summer day! To break the BBQ down, It is a four-foot-tall by two-foot wide compartment featuring two layers of grill grates ready to sear your steak, chicken, or kabobs! As well as one hanging rack towards the top designed to slow roast ribs, chicken, or turkey to ensure you get the maximum smoke flavor that we all love and enjoy! But on the outside of the BBQ, the theme is duck hunting, One of my most enjoyed passions. To me, there is nothing better than a cold, misty morning out in the blind and I hope that whoever purchases the BBQ shares the same love for the hobby of hunting as I do and enjoys the theme!
If you are interested in purchasing my project it will be showcased at the Butte County Fair in the Feather Room and sold Saturday, August 24th in the McClanahan Pavilion. If you are unable to physically be at the auction, BidCal will be holding the online auction that is open to bidding on Thursday, August 22nd and closes on August 24th with the final sale. To register as a buyer in person I have attached a QR code below, it will take you straight to Butte County Fair’s buyer Registration form (left QR Code) that must be submitted to the Fair office no later than the morning of August 24th.
