After retiring as a Commander from the naval base in Portsmouth, Lennis Lammer moved again and the family eventually made their home in Knoxville, where they became cherished members of the community.This second round continues to showcase the remarkable life and collections of this distinguished family .Mrs. Bea Lammers, a direct descendant of Chief George Skye, was a passionate and knowledgeable collector of authentic Native American artifacts. Her collection features carefully curated pottery, beadwork, weavings, sculptures, and cultural pieces — thoughtfully gathered over a lifetime, with an emphasis on quality and authenticity rather than tourist ware.Their son, Steven, also served in the military, and this round includes treasured memorabilia, keepsakes, and meaningful pieces the family carried with them during transfers between naval bases — each item holding a story of service and family tradition. Daughter Laura, a model, author, and beloved member of the Knoxville community, devotedly cared for her parents. Peacock was a prolific American commercial illustrator active in the early-to-mid 20th century, particularly recognized for her vibrant depictions of Latin American figures and scenes. Norman Wilkinson (Lots 113–115). A trio of maritime prints by the celebrated British artist Norman Wilkinson (1878–1971): a Chinese Junk, the Santa Maria, and the U.S.S. Mississippi reproduced in 1938 by National Geographic. Wilkinson is best remembered for a body of maritime paintings and prints that were widely reproduced and collected throughout the 20th century. The three together make a compelling set. Reinhold Palenske (Lot 12). A drypoint etching titled Over the Pass, depicting a dogsled team crossing a mountain pass. Palenske (1884–1954) was an American printmaker known for his scenes of the American West and working life, and his prints remain consistently sought after by collectors of Western Americana. Stephen Lyman (Lot 111). A Light in the Wilderness, a full limited edition set numbered 385 of 2250, unused, issued by the Greenwich Workshop. Lyman (1942–1996) was a celebrated American wildlife and nature artist whose work has a devoted collector following.
