All internet bids qualify a bidder to participate in a Bid Off. We write the online prebids on the cards. The amount is approx. half of the high Pre-Bid amount and we'll execute up to the max amount during the Bid-Off(s) if needed.
All bidding on HiBid is absentee. Bids will be downloaded into our clerking system on Sale Day. The auctioneer will execute those bids between in house, other absentee bidders, phone bidders and live online bidding through our website. No live online bidding through HiBid. Bidders wishing to participate live online must register through our website GatewayAuction.com
Absentee Bidding opens as soon as the catalog is online and closes when the live auction begins. All online bids are downloaded into our clerking system and executed by auctioneer or clerk.
On Hibid the absentee bidding process closes about 5 minutes before the live auction begins. You may be the high bidder on Hibid at that point, but could still get outbid during the live auction, as some bidders are bidding on Invaluable/Auctionzip LIVE or are bidding via telephone. Please see www.berners.com for more info. Contact us if you have questions!

On this page you’ll find collectible U.S. pennies and cent coins for sale. Most bear mint marks from the Denver, San Francisco, or Philadelphia Mints. Styles include wheat pennies, Lincoln pennies, bronze pennies, zinc-coated steel pennies from the 1943 run, and early 20th Century pennies marked “VDB,” the engraver Victor David Brenner’s initials. Older still are the Indian head penny, Flying Eagle penny, half-penny, and copper-nickel penny. (Modern pennies are made of copper-plated zinc.) Rare cents include the pre-1837 pure copper cent piece and the accidental 1943 Lincoln “copper” penny (actually bronze). Conditions of auction pennies include mint, proof, uncirculated, brilliant, and toned examples, sold singly or in penny collections and rolls.
