Guns in this category shoot a BB (ball bearing), pellet, or other projectile using compressed air, CO2 (carbon dioxide), or nitrogen. Airsoft guns generally fire plastic BBs or pellets 6mm in diameter. You’ll find gas, spring, and AEG (automatic electric gun) types for sale online from such airsoft makers as G&G, ICS, Tokyo Marui, A&K Airsoft, SoftAir USA, G&P, Cybergun, Jing Gong, CYMA, Lancer, UK Arms, AGM, Wellfire, Umarex, and APS. Airguns, on the other hand, primarily shoot metal projectiles. They’re commonly known as pellet and BB guns. Typical calibers (projectile diameters expressed in inches) are .177 and .22, but there are also less common .20, .25, .357, .45, .50, and even .58 calibers. Airgun types include break-open (break barrel), sidelever, bolt-action, lever-action, and underlever. Their power comes from a spring piston, gas piston, precharged pneumatic (PCP) tank, CO2 cartridge, or a single-stroke or multi-stroke pump. Airgun manufacturers include Daisy, Crosman, Gamo, Benjamin, RWS, Umarex, Seneca, Beeman, DPMS, and Air Arms. Note that certain laws may apply in your area.
