You are bidding on a 2014 Provident Metals "Prospector" one troy ounce .999 fine silver coin. This is the first example in the series and is exceedingly rare and incredibly sought-after. It is, without question, one of the finest silver coins to come out in a long, long time and this particular example is in BU condition. Coveted for the attention to the details, the high relief, and the precision minting, this is certainly one of the finest bullion coins available on the market.
The obverse features the rugged image of a mid-nineteenth century prospector standing in a rocky valley. Holding a pickaxe and his trusty sluice pan, his faithful mule stands by his side. Each round is inscribed with the word PROSPECTOR. The reverse features a sextant — a navigation tool used to measure angular distances and altitudes — along with a compass, both placed atop a map on a wooden surface. The rustic design includes the inscription ONE TROY OUNCE .999 FINE SILVER.
The quality is exceptional and we find it fitting to share a customer review of this unique coin:
"I got out my magnifying glass to get a better look at this new round. I just can't believe the time and effort that must have gone into making this piece! The level of detail is simply amazing! The grain of the wood table, the stone in the hills, the chaparral, the hair of the mule, the laces of the boots, the lettering and measurements on the tools. This is truly an achievement. No one, anywhere can match this medallion! Not Perth, not the RCM, not the US Mint, Not the mint in Mexico city, not the German mint that makes the Somali Elephants, nor the British Royal Mint, not the Austrian mint and certainly no private mints. NO ONE MATCHES THE QUALITY OR DETAIL IN THIS MEDAL! No one, anywhere!"
