The handles are steel. The maker name can't be made out due to the rust, it lookslike it says "Rodgers"? Then "S. Norfolk, Sheffield, England can easily be made out and the year 1942. The unit these and all the other electronic equipment, came from a navy petter officer, whose MOS was electronics. I used to collect computers and other electronics and recover and refine the precious metals in them. The very heavy transformers in the milk crate can be left out if buyer doesn't want to pay for all that weight shipping, they are new old stock.

. Seller claims this was used by their great x3 grandfather, and was passed down by the family? The body is made of one tree tgat was cleverly split to make the bow part. The handles are secured with tacks. Wire tacks/nails were introduced in 1860, according to a quick Google search. There's no documentation on the history, as I told the seller I'd have to state in the description. It is a nice piece of rustic primitive décor.
